Some six years ago at the age of 60, Gloucestershire-based art director, father and grandfather, Neil Russell, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease – a progressive disease of the nervous system that’s marked by tremors, muscular rigidity and slow, imprecise movement. No longer having the motor skills – nor the motivation – to continue his work in advertising and marketing, rather than just lie down and accept his fate, Neil took to running …in a very big way!
