About me
Hello there, my name is Martin Levinson, founder of Regenerated Me. I was born in November 1960, so I’m not exactly a spring chicken! Married with one grown up son (and a not so grown up Siamese cat called Merlin), most of my working life was spent as a creative copywriter in large central London ad agencies before setting up my own agency with other work colleagues.
Having moved down from London to Hastings on the South East Coast some 20 years ago, I continued to work in marketing communications whilst building up a successful property business. On turning 50, as well as putting my toe in the water and doing some stand-up comedy (one of life’s most powerful natural laxatives!), I became more interested in health and exercise.
Having worked all those years in Ad Land, where fags and booze and long lunches were the order of the day, I realised that, actually, a 50 year old body is somewhat less forgiving than one of 30. So without going too extreme, I upped my own levels of exercise, and reduced my many visits to the local pubs.
Then back in 2019, I decided to train to teach older people exercise through an absolutely brilliant course from a Midlands-based organisation appropriately called Move It Or Lose It. Having qualified to teach the FABS regime (Fitness, Aerobics, Balance & Strength), I discovered that there is so much we can do to actively reverse some of the so called “inevitable” affects of ageing, such as loss of muscle mass, bone density, lung capacity, and balance.
And it was through this course that the idea of Regenerated Me was born.
So here at Regenerated Me we cover a wide range of subjects and issues to do with ageing as well as possible. I am now a keen advocate of practising what I preach: exercise – not least weight resistance exercise – is now a key part of my day-to-day life.
And as Regenerated Me evolves, I’m learning and discovering more and more about the ageing process in its broadest sense, and am genuinely excited about sharing these findings with you and hearing your stories and experiences about what steps you’re taking to make this stage of your life as fulfilling as possible.
